What it calculates
Volumetric (dimensional) weight converts a box's size into a weight: length × width × height divided by the courier's divisor. The courier charges whichever is higher, the volumetric or the actual weight. Light products in big boxes often pay for air.
How to read the result
If you are billed on box size, a smaller box can cut shipping cost on every order. Couriers use different divisors (5,000 and 6,000 are common). Check yours.
